WA Government fails to support Australian engineering jobs – 9 March

APESMA members are calling for WA Oil and Gas Projects to complete their
engineering design work in WA, employing Australian engineers. Despite a
boom of LNG projects in WA, local highly skilled engineers are lining up in
the dole queue. Current legislation does not protect Australian engineering
jobs.

Union issues clarification on eRx criticism – 23 February 2010

Employee pharmacist union the Pharmacists Division of APESMA (PDA) issued
a statement yesterday defending its criticism of the proposed funding of eRx
Script Exchange in the Fifth Community Pharmacy Agreement.

Qantas, Jetstar engineers 'overworked' – 17 December 2009

Qantas and Jetstar engineers who will walk off the job on Thursday say they
are overworked, often getting less than four hours sleep between jobs.
APESMA says Qantas is refusing to negotiate a new collective agreement
and will not agree to fatigue management demands or company-sponsored
professional development and training.

City Hall engineers will enforce workplace bans for the first time in the City of Greater Geelong's history.
The council's engineering staff voted to push forward with industrial action likely to begin as early as next Wednesday
with a count of their secret ballot yesterday revealing 94 per cent support for the move.

APESMA takes on health and safety – 16 November 2009

The union representing employee pharmacists has pushed occupational
health and safety (OH&S) in pharmacies to the fore with the launch a new
campaign. Pharmacists' Division of APESMA has kicked off its workplace
safety campaign with a web-based survey to identify workplace safety
practices in pharmacies.

EDS
employees maintain conditions – 12 November 2009

Employees of HP Enterprise Services, formerly known as EDS, have now
mainly moved onto new HP contracts with equivalent conditions, according to
the integrator's most active union, the Association of Professional
Engineers, Scientists and Managers, Australia (APESMA).
