Shaping Your Profession & Workplace

The voice for professionals in the workplace
Influencing your profession and industry
Supporting ongoing professional development and recognition
Lobbying all levels of government to influence policy formation and decision making
Developing innovative programs to aid professional careers

APESMA aims to bring members together, to provide an effective voice for professionals in the workplace, and to help develop our professions and industries. We are a not-for-profit association run for and governed by our members.

Working Together

With APESMA, professionals can join together to influence their organisations and shape their work environments.
We assist members to become workplace representatives and provide training and support in these key roles.

Promoting

APESMA promotes professional needs and the professional contribution in the workplace. This ensures that members have access to worthwhile, rewarding and sustainable careers and that organisations make the best decisions based upon professional advice.
We support ongoing professional development and recognition. We help to drive the introduction and upkeep of relevant professional standards and competencies.
APESMA is promoting your professions as an attractive career to the next generation of graduates. We provide information about the workplace to students in Universities across Australia and have over 20,000 student members.

Developing

APESMA’s input is highly regarded in many influential forums. APESMA representatives are involved in a range of external committees and projects.
We are continually developing innovative programs to aid professional careers. These range from partnerships with government and industry for skills renewal and retraining, to APESMA member services.

Influencing

We are active in influencing government and industry, through official and personal channels. Policy areas where we have been most active include industrial relations, education and training, research and innovation, investment in infrastructure and professional regulation.
Our presence in the media is growing. APESMA comments on the issues that affect our members and their professions, and strives for coverage that advances their professional interests.
