Recognition of Engineering Qualifications, NPER and Post-nominals

I have recently arrived in Australia and want to arrange for my qualifications to be recognised. What should I do?

If you are looking for information on having your qualifications recognised in Australia, you will need to contact the relevant professional body who will ensure that your qualification is accredited in Australia.

Who should I talk to about appropriate engineering post-nominals on my business card?

For professional engineer members of the Institution of Engineers, Australia (Engineers Australia) (not Associates), the following post-nominals are available:

Professional engineers who are not members of the Institution of Engineers, Australia may use the postnominal NPER if they are registered on the National Professional Engineers Register.
