NATIONAL ASSEMBLY & NATIONAL BOARD

The current National Board of the Association took office on 1 March 2010, and is part of the Association's Governance Structure.

The structure comprises a National Assembly with representatives elected by members from each Branch/Division of the Association and a National Board of seven elected by and from the Assembly. The National Board comprises the National President, National Senior Vice-President, National Secretary, National Treasurer and three National Vice-Presidents.

NATIONAL BOARD PROFILES

National President: Dario Tomat

Dario Tomat has been re-elected as National President for a fourth term in 2010, after having served as Senior Vice President during 2001-02 and 2004-06.

Dario was previously the Association's National Treasurer for three years. He was also the Tasmanian Branch President in 1990-92, Tasmanian Branch Secretary from 1986-89 and Tasmanian Branch Vice President from 1993-94.

Dario holds a Bachelor of Engineering, a Bachelor of Business Studies and an MBA. He is a director of the management consultancy firm, Whetstone Pty Ltd.

National Senior Vice President:  Bill Jackson

Bill Jackson has been re-elected as National Senior Vice President for a second term in 2010, after having served as a National Vice President in 2007 & 2008.

Bill has been South Australian Branch President since 1998, South Australian Branch Secretary 1996-1997 and a member of the National Assembly since 1996.

Bill is employed as a Senior Regulatory Consultant with ElectraNet SA.

National Secretary:  Robyn Porter

Robyn Porter has been re-elected as National Secretary for a second term in 2010, after having been a National Assembly member of the Association since 1998. She has been President of the ACT Branch since 2001 and a member of the Women's Reference Group since its inauguration.

Robyn is a strategic management consultant facilitating large-scale R&D applications for Commonwealth and State grants. She has previously been a bench scientist, patent examiner and a Commonwealth public servant administering one of the Commonwealth R&D grants.

Robyn has a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) and a Graduate Diploma in Technology Management.

National Treasurer: Karina Bader

Karina Bader has been elected as National Treasurer for 2010, after having served as a National Vice President in 2008 & 2009, and as a member of the Association's National Assembly since 2006. Karina served as the Victorian Branch President from 2005-2009.

Karina is a resource analyst in the financial services sector, having previously been employed as an exploration geologist in the mining industry and as a senior researcher in the government sector.

Karina has a Bachelor of Science (Geology) (Honours) and an MBA Technology Management.

National Vice President:  Colin Jones

Colin Jones has been elected as a National Vice President for 2010, after having served as the Association's National Treasurer from 2001-2009.

He has been a Federal Councillor/National Assembly member of the Association since 1982 and a member of the New South Wales Branch Executive since 1983, during which time he has served as Branch Treasurer and Branch Vice President.

Col is a senior IT specialist at Telstra.

National Vice President:  Chris Greenway

Chris Greenway has been re-elected as a National Vice President for a third term in 2010. He is also Vice President of the ACT Branch and a member of the Managers and Professionals Division Committee. He has been a member of National Assembly since 2006.

Chris is an independent IT contractor engaged as Deputy Program Manager by the Australian Federal Police and has previously held IT positions with the Australian Olympic Committee.

Chris has a Masters of Management and a Masters of Project Management.

National Vice President:  Andreas Marquardt

Andreas Marquardt has been re-elected as National Vice-President for 2010, having previously served as a National Vice-President in 2005, 2006 and 2009. He has been a Federal Council/National Assembly member since 1994 and a member of the ACT Branch Executive since 1998, having served as Branch President, Vice-President and Treasurer, the position he currently holds. Since 2005, Andreas has also been the APESMA nominee to the Board of RedR Australia, where he is currently the Honorary Treasurer.

Andreas holds Bachelor of Engineering, Master of Engineering and MBA qualifications and is employed as the Manager Water and Sewerage Asset Management for ActewAGL in Canberra.
