APESMA takes on health and safety – 16 November 2009

The union representing employee pharmacists has pushed occupational
health and safety (OH&S) in pharmacies to the fore with the launch a
new campaign. Pharmacists' Division of APESMA has kicked off its
workplace safety campaign with a web-based survey to identify
workplace safety practices in pharmacies.

APESMA Qantas Professional Engineers vote for protected industrial action – November 2009
For the first time in the airline's history, APESMA Professional
Engineer members at Qantas have voted to take lawful and protected
industrial action. In an overwhelming show of their frustration with
the lack of progress of enterprise bargaining negotiations, and
concerns over professional development, fatigue and other matters,
99.2% have voted to support taking industrial action. |
Engineers'
strike may ground Qantas flights – 13 November 2009

Qantas flights could be disrupted this weekend with engineers embarking on
an industrial campaign over pay and conditions. Engineers' union director
Catherine Bolger says from 5:00pm today, engineers will refuse to work
overtime or take calls outside of work, mainly at night. |

employees maintain conditions – 12 November 2009

Employees of HP Enterprise Services, formerly known as EDS, have now
mainly moved onto new HP contracts with equivalent conditions, according to
the integrator's most active union, the Association of Professional
Engineers, Scientists and Managers, Australia (APESMA). |
Constructive, cooperative and collective way forward at Thales – 11 November 2009

APESMA welcomes the announcement of a constructive relationship agreement with defence contractor Thales. The agreement signed by five unions – APESMA, AMWU, AWU, ETU and NUW – can be partly attributed to the Fair Work legislation which recognises the value of collective bargaining and union representation and information rights in the workplace.
